Lee and I went out to do some errands. A State Trooper passed us on the highway. Virginia is a Commonwealth rather than a state, which a distinction without a difference as far as I can tell.
"Why don't they call them Commonwealth Troopers instead of State Troopers,?" Lee asked.
I thought about that for a minute and then it came to me. "The nickname for a State Trooper is a Statie. Can you imagine if we had Commies driving around giving out tickets?"
Heh, heh! I'll remember that one!
ReplyDeleteI can help you with that question.....Virginia is still officially a commonwealth. We're the only state that doesn' t call itself a state. We've officially been a commonwealth since we broke from the British.
ReplyDeleteSo does that make ALL of us commies?
ReplyDeletemies?
