That sounds way more exciting than it is. The jewels in a wedding ring quilt are placed in the corners of the quilt squares. It makes it easier to sew a wedding ring quilt and I am all for easy!
The jewels are 2 inch square pieces of fabric. You draw a line on the diagonal on the wrong side of the fabric and place it in the corner of each square, every place you have appliqued an arc.
Sew just to one side of the line. Then cut away the excess fabric. Don't cut too close to the stitching. Be careful not to cut the corner of the quilting square.
Iron the corner flap over and repeat on all corners.
It is starting to look like a quilt.
Now I have to start sewing the rows together.
thank you for explaining that, I can't wait until I see the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteOh my! This is going to be gorgeous. I didn't realize how important those corner squares were until now.
